Sciena is entering a well-deserved retirement
Sciena has succeeded in making content accessible on one website from all six ETH Domain institutions — ETH Zurich, EPFL, PSI, WSL, Empa and Eawag — accessible on one website. News items are automatically extracted from each institution and machine-translated where necessary.
While the implementation of DeepL was innovative at the time, it is now part of everyday life. Other things have changed too: the decline of Twitter means that the most important channel for content distribution is no longer available. Various language models now facilitate the discovery of information about teaching, research, knowledge and technology transfer within the ETH Domain.
This is why the time has come to say goodbye to Sciena. We will soon be archiving the website and will no longer be sending out newsletters. We have enjoyed keeping you updated with regular news via the newsletter, and we would like to thank you very much for your time and loyalty.
Our goal remains to inspire internal and external target groups with the diverse and exciting content of the ETH Domain. In future, we plan to break new ground, utilise state-of-the-art technologies and harness the full potential of artificial intelligence.
